    Life after school can feel big, but planning helps you feel more confident and prepared. You can:

    ✅ Explore different jobs and industries
    ✅ Look into courses, apprenticeships, or uni options
    ✅ Talk to your family, teachers, and career counsellor
    ✅ Set small goals to help you move forward

Once you have created these and customised them to the role and company you’re looking to apply for, search job listings, look up job hunting tips, and learn how to network to find opportunities.

  • Pathways after school

    After school, there are many pathways you can take, including:

    Work – starting a job to build experience and income
    Apprenticeships & Traineeships – earn while you learn a trade or skill
    TAFE or VET – hands-on courses for specific industries
    University – for careers needing further study
    Gap year – take time to work, travel, or volunteer while planning your next step

    Everyone’s pathway is different, and it’s okay if your plan changes as you discover what you enjoy and what suits your goals.

  • Support services

    You don’t have to figure everything out on your own. Support services can help you with:

    Career and course advice
    Mental health and wellbeing
    Study skills and organisation
    Finding work or apprenticeships
    Financial and housing support (if needed)

    You can talk to:

    • Your careers counsellor or teacher

    • Wellbeing team at your school

    • Local youth services

    • Family and friends you trust

    Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness, and there are people ready to support you as you plan your pathway.
